The Season of Giving Back

11/26/2018 | by Sage Vacation Rentals | Vacation Rentals

Make someone’s holiday a little brighter this season by participating in a local charity event. Start a family tradition to give back during your vacation to people less fortunate. There are many great opportunities to get involved and help the Chelan Community when you’re in town.

Manger Mall in Chelan and Manson

The Manger Mall was created in 2009 to help give struggling families gifts for their children at Christmas. Each year, parents can walk through the Manger Mall and select one gift for $1 for each child in their family. Gift wrapping is also available for families with the help of volunteers. This annual event is a great way to give back to the community whether you donate, volunteer or spread the word!

This year the Manger Mall will be held on December 15th at North Shore Bible Church from 9:30am-4:30pm. Music, cookies and coffee will also be served for this event!

Donate:

Cash donations can be made to Manger Mall, PO Box 477, Chelan, WA 98816. New toys are also accepted for girls and boys, ages infant to 18 years of age ranging from $15-$25. Toys can be dropped off at North Shore Bible Church or Chelan Valley Hope. Many wineries are also offering free tastings for gifts donated. You can check out the Manger Mall Facebook Page for more information on donation and volunteer oppurtunities!

CASA: Christmas Stocking Project

The Christmas Stocking Project is to provide a stocking to every child and sibling under the care of CASA. This project relies on the help of the community to sew stockings, pillow cases and donate gifts, toys, etc for every stocking. Over 400 stockings are made each year and donations are accepted year round! Visits CASA for more information!

Lake Chelan Food Bank

The Lake Chelan Food Bank is another great way to donate and help provide for families in the area! You can check their monthly calendar for upcoming events, food preparation and distributing days. The Food Bank also accepts monetary donations, which you can find more information on here!
