Road trip: Cascade Mountain Loop!

03/29/2018 | by Sage Vacation Rentals | Local Area

With Spring arriving, the snow is melting and flowers are blooming! This is the perfect time to go on a nice scenic road trip on the Cascade Mountain Loop! This giant loop covers 9 different regions throughout the west and central parts of Washington. Head North or South of Arlington and make your way through Sedro Woolley or Snohomish. This huge loop will bring you over the pass, through Leavenworth, travel up the river near Wenatchee and Chelan and make your way towards Twisp, and then all the way around Whidbey Island and back! We recommend making this a  2 or 3 day journey to be able to get the full experience of this fun trip!

State Route 20 (North Cascades Highway) is closed during the late fall and winter months due to cautionary reasons such as snow and avalanches. Once the snow starts melting, it makes for a beautiful ride through the trees and mountains. If you are planning on taking this trip in the winter months, you can do half of the loop and check out the winter activities over the pass!

9 Regions to Explore

  1. Snohomish River Valley
  2. Stevens Pass Greenway
  3. Leavenworth/ Cascade Foothills
  4. Wenatchee/ Columbia River
  5. Lake Chelan Valley
  6. Methow Valley
  7. North Cascades
  8. Skagit Valley and Fidalgo Island
  9. Whidbey Island Scenic Isle Way
